Welcome to YQ NORTHWEST's new online magazine!

YQ Magazine - August 2008Birthday celebrations are in full swing this month as YQ celebrates three years of delivering the best lifestyle features, from travel to fashion, news to reviews, to the North West’s savviest readers.

Celebrating in style, we will be hosting an exclusive party at Islington Wharf’s penthouse on Thursday 28th August. Expect a totally unique event at a venue boasting the best views in the city.

Sharing in the festivities this month are the North West’s favourite festivals; Creamfields and Manchester Pride. Trevor Evers looks back over 18 years of Pride as the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community descends on Manchester on August 15th - 25th, while Kerry Spencer chats to the legendary Peter Hook on a hedonistic decade of dance at Creamfields.

Embracing the last rays of sunshine, Karen Jones Russell delivers a high summer fashion story for any weather with this month’s vibrant interpretation of our wardrobe staple, denim.

Don’t forget to take the time to enter our exclusive competitions in the Giveaways section, with shopping sprees, R.E.M gig tickets and a trip to France up for grabs!
